There's a new initiative over at the Media Grid groups; it's called Psychology of Immersive Environments Working Group, or "PIE.TWG" for short. I recently attended their first meeting in Second Life which was enthusiastic and to the point. The group intends to move forward research in the virtual world along a number of separate strands but I think the greatest benefit will be in bringing together Psychologists and related researchers under a single umbrella group.The groups aims as set out in their charter are:
