Motivational psychologists have focused on five basic questions to derive theories of motivation: What choices do people make about their behavior? How long is it before the person actually gets started? What is the intensity of involvement in the activity? What causes a person to persist or give up? What is the individual thinking/feeling when engaged in the activity? Colleges for psychology courses in Metro Manila

This is very interesting research Simon and I will...

This is very interesting research Simon and I will be keeping an eye on your work. I am interested as an educator in what SL can offer to learning as I work for JISC, but more as a parent of a son (aged 11) with Aspergers Syndrome.

I just wanted to respond briefly about the label issue. On a personal level I have spent much of my life trying to escape labels but found myself needing a label for my son (in the form of a diagnosis) so that the rest of the world would understand and accomodate his needs. This was vital to get the school to acknowledge his 'difference'. Now we have a diagnosis they 'have to' consider issues such as an over stimulating environment, etc...

So we now find ourselves embracing the terms autism, asd and aspergers and putting our effort into educating the world about this. I do this through photography, but also use social networking, blogging and any means I can.

This page links to some of m essays and a youtube video. autism - the power of photography

We love the way his brain works and consider ourselves very fortunate to enjoy his gifts.

Sorry to hijack the educational post.
